The pot of gold at the end of a this rainbow used to be Salmon. But with overfishing, pollution and loss of habitat, fishing is becoming a very hard way to make a living.

Since this is a tidal area the local fishers have to think ahead when fishing season starts. In a few hours the water in the Slough will be only a couple of inches deep.

Here is the view at low tide. The fish boats simply sit in the mud.
